EARTHQUAKES

Quote:
Matthew 24:6-8: "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows."

It pays to note here that the word "diverse" is a very powerful one with several meanings, including different, distinct, dissimilar, and varied. This has been quite true of the earthquakes and tornadoes, as well as with the other weather phenomenon going on in the world.

The number and intensity of earthquakes are now at a higher level than any other time in history. Earthquakes are occurring at an accelerating pace. There has been a tremendous increase in overall earthquake activity worldwide, if not in magnitude.

Strong earthquakes in the past 10 years as much as during the entire 20th century:

Russian scientists announced last week alarming observations about the strong earthquakes that shook the Earth. In the first decade of the 21st century there were almost as many earthquakes measuring above 6.0 on the Richter scale as there were during the entire 20th century. 14 such cases were registered in the 2001-2011 period compared to 17 strong tremors during the 20th century, the Super 19 Minuti weekly reads.

The roaring noises are possibly connected to earthquake activity. There have even been recently heard an unexplained trumpet-type sound in the area of earthquakes!

There have been instances of booms in areas preceding earthquakes, many
reported here in the U.S, like the Georgia quakes last year. The Costa
Rica event a couple of weeks ago got a lot of coverage, but the sounds in
reports have been different.

One Witness

Last week, my wife and I heard what we though was thunder and saw
flashes of light. We soon realized that it wasn't rumbling, it was
more like sonic booms or very large bombs. I lasted maybe 2-3 minutes.
There were single booms spaced about 1 second apart and they would
come in groups of five or six with a gap of around a minute between
sets.

I checked the weather radar when I came in side and no storms were
within hundreds of miles. There weren't any local fireworks that I'm
aware of that night, and the sounds/flashes were coming from out
towards the water and seemed to be eminating from way out in the Gulf.

I have read that this happened recently on the east coast with reports
coming in from coastal communities from NC all the way to NJ. We live
less than a mile from the Gulf of Mexico.

Strange Noises: Are they UFOs, thunder, HAARP or a hoax?

Heart problems increase substantially after earthquakes, new study claim/b]

Quote:
Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Luk 21:26)

[b]A study carried out by two Portuguese researchers, which was recently unveiled during the European Epidemiology Congress in Oporto, shows that that the risk of suffering heart complications increases significantly in the wake of an earthquake. The chance of experiencing heart problems rises by more than 60 percent in the days following an earthquake, according to the research. Authors Ana Isabel Ribeiro, of Oporto University’s Superior Institute for Public Health, and Maria de Fátima Pina, of the Oporto University Medical Faculty’s Epidemiology Department, claim that the association between heart problems and quakes was already known. However, according to the two researchers, there were few studies that evaluated the impact that smaller tremors could have on non-lethal heart problems. For their work, the co-authors looked at hospital registers from 59 municipalities, home to 1.7 million inhabitants, where earthquakes of 5.3 in magnitude have been registered to understand the impact of quakes on hospital admissions through acute heart attacks. Based on the results the investigators stressed the need for public authorities to invest in raising awareness among the population with regards to this problem and educate society, with a view to avoiding panic and reducing the impact of earthquakes on the health of the most sensitive populations. Mainland Portugal, as many other countries, registers frequent seismic activity even though it is only of a low intensity. The first longitudinal study into the growth of Portuguese babies has also been recently revealed. Developed by a team of researchers from Oporto, associated to the FMUP Generation XXI project, the study reveals that Portuguese newborn girls weigh, on average, 3.1 kilos and measure around 48 centimetres in length, while boys weigh slightly more, at 3.22 kilos, and measure 49 centimetres. Researchers also documented children’s growth rates until the age of four and found that “children who gain weight quickly during the first years of life are at greater risk of developing obesity later on

People felt 4.7-magnitude earthquake in 5 states; geologists study swarm of quakes

The largest earthquake to hit Arkansas in 35 years has everyone wondering what's next and what's causing all the shaking.

The largest earthquake to hit Arkansas in 35 years also shook parts of Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Mississippi on Sunday night. This comes in a swarm of about 800 earthquakes to strike north central Arkansas since September.

The magnitude 4.7 earthquake hit just after 11 p.m. Sunday, and was felt for hundreds of miles. This biggest one yet has everyone wondering what's next and what's causing all the quakes.

Reports to the U.S. Geological Survey show the 4.7-magnitude quake caused moderate to light shaking across the Natural State and parts of four others.

WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE WORLD? EARTHQUAKES EVERYWHERE, AND STORMS RAGING, IS IT THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS?

Quote:
When reports come in of wars and rumored wars, keep your head and don't panic. This is routine history; this is no sign of the end. Nation will fight nation and ruler fight ruler, over and over. Famines and earthquakes will occur in various places. This is nothing compared to what is coming. (Mat 24:6-8)

An area southwest of Hawthorne, Nevada has had hundreds of earthquakes in the last week. According to the Director of Nevada Seismological Laboratory at the University of Nevada Reno the largest has been recorded at a 4.4 in size.
