Over The Counter Drugs To Have In Your Supplies

Here is a list of over the counter drugs you absolutely must have in quantity as part of your medical supplies.

Ibuprofen 200mg (Motrin, Advil): A popular pain reliever, anti-inflammatory, and fever reducer.

Acetaminophen 325mg (Tylenol): Another popular pain reliever and fever reducer.

Asprin, 325mg: A pain-reliever, fever reducer, and anti-inflammatory, but it has blood thinning properties as well. If you suspect someone of having a heart attack, have them chew an adult aspirin immediately. In a collapse situation, higher doses may be appropriate to replace drugs like Coumadin.

Loperamide, 2mg (Imodium): Is an an anti-diarrheal.

Meclizine 12.5, 25, 50mg(Dramamine, Antivert): Mecilizine is a medication that helps prevent nausea and vomiting.

Triple Antibiotic Ointment (Neosporin, Bacitracin, Bactroban): Triple antibiotic ointment is applied at the site of injury to prevent an infection. However, for deep invection an antibiotic must be given oral or IV.

Diphenhydramine 25mg, 50mg(Benadryl): An antihistamine that helps alleviate the itching, rashes, nasal congestion and other symptoms of allergic reactions.

Hydrocortisone cream (1%): Speaking of rashes, this cream is used for various types of dermatitis that causes redness, flakiness, itching, and thickening of the skin.

Clotrimazole, Miconazole cream/powder(Lotrimin, Monistat): Clotrimazole and Miconazole are examples of anti-fungal medications that would be useful to treat Athlete’s feet (tinea pedis), vaginal infections (monilia), ringworm , and jock itch (tinea cruris).

The good news is that you can probably obtain a significant amount of all of the above drugs for a reasonable amount of money.

Antibiotics

I suggest Thomas Laboratories, as I have used them without difficulty. They can be purchased at Lambert Vet Supply without a script.

FISH-MOX (amoxicillin 250mg)
FISH_MOX FORTE (amoxicillin 500mg)
FISH-CILLIN (ampicillin 250mg)
FISH-FLEX Keflex 250mg)
FISH-FLEX FORTE (Keflex 500mg)
FISH-ZOLE (metronidazole 250mg)
FISH-PEN (penicillin 250mg)
FISH-PEN FORTE (penicillin 500mg)
FISH-CYCLINE (tetracycline 250mg)

These medications are available usually in plastic bottles of 100 tablets for much less than the same prescription medication at the pharmacy (some come in bottles of 30 tablets). Also, add Bird Sulfa which is Sulfamethoxazole, and Timethoprim to your stash.

Oxytetracycline injection, and Neomycin Sulfate, can also be bought along with Procaine penicillin G in Aqueous Suspension which at your local Tractor Supply Store for now..

Buy them now, they want long be available when Uncle Sam figures out all of us Preppers are buying them.
